The Bethlehem Area Vocational -Technical School Culinary Arts student team, led by Instructors Lawrence Fortunato and Scott Ferry, will work to defend their two-time “People’s Choice” title at this year’s event. “This is a great opportunity for students to get out in the community and show what we are doing is a viable career path,” Fortunato said. “We love to showcase the success of our students.” In 2019, the student team whipped up a pumpkin bisque with smoked gouda. In 2020 the team brought home the Souper Bowl Spoon for a second year in a row by using the same fall flavor flair for a brand-new creamy maple bacon sweet potato soup. “If we keep winning, I told the administration we are going to need a trophy case,” Fortunato said.
