Visual Vibrance: ArtsQuest Unveils Stunning New Exhibitions Across the Lehigh Valley

Bethlehem, Lehigh Valley, PA. May 13, 2025 – ArtsQuest is proud to unveil a dynamic season of exhibitions across multiple venues in the Lehigh Valley, highlighting the power of creativity and the impact of community collaboration. From community-based collections to nationally recognized talent, this season’s exhibitions aim to celebrate creativity, connection and the stories that shape our world.

Creative Aging: Selected Artworks | June 12 – July 10 | Bethlehem Visitors Center at SteelStacks presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network part of Jefferson Health

ArtsQuest’s Creative Aging Program and the Lehigh Valley Activity Professionals Association (LVAPA) have partnered to feature a group exhibition from residents at local nursing homes and care facilities in the Lehigh Valley. The work included in this exhibition shows that creativity has no age limit and honors the different ways people create art throughout our lives.

A selection of work will feature pieces made in ArtsQuest’s Creative Aging Workshops, led by Teaching Artist Katrina Heebner, as well as work made independently by various residents at several local facilities.

Maryann Riker: Selected Works | April 25 – July 30 | Bethlehem Area Public Library – Main Branch

ArtsQuest is proud to partner with the Bethlehem Area Public Library to showcase local artists for pop-up exhibitions while the new Creative Factory is under construction. This Spring-Summer, we are featuring local artist Maryann Riker.

Maryann Riker is a mixed-media collage and book artist whose works evoke a sense of memory, time and journeys. Her works incorporate digital images, Victorian iconography and other symbols to convey a sense of memory and time as one opens and unfolds the work. Her works have been exhibited both nationally and internationally and are in the Special Collections of: The Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Walker Art Center, the Art Institute of Chicago, The National Museum for Women in the Arts, Yale University, Mills College, University of Iowa, Rhode Island School of Design, Lafayette College, Rutgers University, Newart Art Museum, Newark Public Library and many other private and public collections.

Compendium: Small Works II Juried Exhibition | June 23 – July 26 | Grossman Gallery at the Williams Visual Arts Building at Lafayette College

Friday, June 27 at 6 – 8 p.m. – Opening Reception

Wednesday, July 23 at 6 – 8 p.m. – Closing Reception

Artists living within the Lehigh Valley are invited to submit artwork for consideration to the 9th Annual Compendium Juried Exhibition, which will feature a wide range of styles and mediums celebrating small works. This exhibition is open to artists who work in any medium, so long as the finished piece is no larger than 12’ in either direction (including any framing for 2-D work). ArtsQuest is partnering with Lafayette College in Easton, PA to bring our Compendium exhibitions to the Grossman Gallery space.

The annual Compendium exhibitions are designed to highlight the thriving art community of the Lehigh Valley and region and to showcase the diverse array of multidisciplinary artists who reside there.

Awards will be announced at the Opening Reception:

·       1st place: $200

·       2nd Place: $100

·       3rd Place: $50

The Art of Musikfest: Musikfest Poster Artist Retrospective Exhibition (2019 – 2025) | May – August 31 | Payne Gallery at Moravian University

Panel Discussion featuring all of the Musikfest poster artists will take place on July 31 at 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas.

ArtsQuest is partnering with Moravian University to bring in an exhibition of artwork featuring past Musikfest Poster Artists from 2019 – 2025. Participating exhibition artists include Jessica Bastidas (2019), Doug Boehm (2020), Mandy Martin (2021), Maltas Con Leche (2023) and Mallory Zondag (2025).

Mallory Zondag: What Lies Between Us | May 23 – September 14 | ArtsQuest Center

A striking solo exhibition by fiber artist and educator Mallory Zondag, What Lies Between Us features immersive, tactile sculptures created between 2020 and 2025. The work investigates invisible threads of connection—between people, places and the living world. Using methods like felting, weaving and fiber sculpting, Zondag’s organic forms invite viewers to consider their place within an interconnected global ecosystem.

Zondag’s art has been shown at venues including the Whitney Museum, El Museo del Barrio and the International Biennial of Textile Art in Ukraine. She is also known for her community outreach through collaborative textile projects and arts education.

These exhibitions reflect ArtsQuest’s commitment to cultivating creativity, fostering community partnerships, and uplifting diverse artistic voices. Whether emerging or established, local or global, each artist and show offers something unique to inspire audiences of all ages.
