September Volunteer Spotlight 

For the month of September, we would like to recognize George Carvis! You’ll find George as one of our Site Supervisors during Musikfest and volunteering at Chriskindlmarkt! He keeps calm while volunteering during these busy festivals and keeps a positive attitude the entire time. We’re so happy to have him as one of our volunteers and are looking forward to seeing him soon! 

Q: What is your favorite memory while volunteering?
A: It’s so hard to pick just one. I really enjoy helping the patrons see all there is do. Whether it’s Musikfest, Christkindlmarkt, or any of the other events with ArtsQuest. I also am thankful to my corporate volunteers from Travel Impressions that have been with me throughout the years.

     

Q: Who inspires you?
A: Abraham Lincoln.

Q: What’s the first concert you ever attended?
A: First concert EVER? The Osmond Brothers at Allentown Fair. First concert at Musikfest was Hootie and the Blowfish with Train as their opening act at Kunzplatz.

Q: If you could pick any act to play on the main stage at MusikFest, who would you pick and why?  
A: Dave Matthews Band. I could sit and listen to them all day.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not volunteering?
A: Spending time with my wife at the beach. Whether at the beach or not, we like to visit various wineries and breweries in PA, DE & MD.

Q: Do you volunteer anywhere else besides ArtsQuest?
A: Yes. I also just started volunteering with Star of Bethlehem Festival.
