March 2022 Volunteer Spotlight

Each month, our volunteer committee decides on volunteers to spotlight. For March 2022, we wanted to recognize a volunteer who is a foundational presence in the Front of House at Christkindlmarkt and our beer trucks at MusikFest: Mark Moran!

Q: What inspired you to begin volunteering?
A: The community has blessed me with great fortune. I feel an obligation to “give back” to those who have been so kind to me. Plus it’s FUN! Especially during Christkindlmarkt everyone is always in a cheerful mood both volunteers and festival-goers.

Q: What is something your fellow volunteers would be surprised to learn about you?
A: I’ve held certifications in cybersecurity

Q: Do you volunteer anywhere else besides ArtsQuest?
A: Logan’s Heroes animal rescue, I help with their IT work. It gives me an opportunity to play with the puppies.

Q:When was the first time you experienced Musikfest?
A: I don’t remember the year but it was quite a while ago, back when it was north side only. I took my son to his first live music concert.

Q: If you could pick any act to play at Musikfest, who would you pick and why?
A: Greta Van Fleet. Great to see young musicians playing the guitar-heavy rock genre.

Q: Outside of ArtsQuest, what is the best concert you have ever been to?
A: Andrea Bocelli, the man’s voice can bring a person to tears.
