February Update

We are only a little bit into 2023, but we’ve already gotten a taste of the new programming coming to ArtsQuest! We’ve announced half of the Musikfest Steel Stage shows, gotten Slainte shifts on the portal, and announced new concerts in Upper Macungie’s Grange Park. It’s going to be a big year and there is a plenty to do.

It might not seem that way, at first. This is always the “quiet” part of the year and it can sometimes feel like there are not enough opportunities on the portal. It’s a great time of year to rest up and get ready for all of the great things ahead. Over the next few months we’ll be dropping a lot of events onto the Opportunities page, and it’s good practice to regularly check back to see if anything new has popped up!

We’re about ready to get rolling on this year’s Ambassador Program, and wanted to a share a big thank you to everyone who applied. We love to see when folks are willing to learn more and step up their volunteering game to a whole new level, and we look forward to this year’s sessions with those were accepted. If you did not get in, don’t be discouraged! We look forward to working with you even more over the next year and hope that you’ll apply again in the future.

We hosted our first-ever Winter Winefest and Market this month and it was a resounding success. The event was sold out, positively received by guests, and our volunteers did an amazing job packing gift bags and getting everyone scanned and wristbanded. The fact that we can have a smooth first-time event speaks volumes to our skill and ability as a volunteer program to adapt and achieve. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this event!

We are still looking for anyone who is interested in stepping into leadership roles at our largest events. If you enjoy serving alcohol and want to become RAMP certified to help at smaller events or become an Alcohol Supervisor at our larger events, please email me to let me know. Similarly, if you’ve been a part of our largest events for a while, are an Ambassador, and have in interest in seeing what being a Site Supervisor is all about, let me know that too! My team and our dedicated Supervisors are always looking for folks to step up and join the crew for training and shadowing.

I hope that you got to enjoy this month with your Valentine. We do a lot of looking forward to the future and remembering the past around here, but it’s important to appreciate the present we have with each other as well.

Thank you for everything that you do,

Cory Stevens
