1 Day Workshop

Tuesday, December 2 | 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Art is good for your brain! Studies have shown that creative activities like art can reduce stress and improve your mood. The trick is to find artistic projects that meet a few key points to ensure a relaxing and rewarding activity. In this session, we’ll try out dot art and discuss how to use art to practice mindfulness and engage with your creativity. Come join us for a fun art session that will help you unwind and feel better - no artistic ability required!

Katrina Heebner is a Bethlehem artist who works in a variety of artistic media, specializing in fiber, wood, and paper arts. She graduated from Moravian University with a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Psychology where her art studies focused on photography, painting, and drawing. She is a Certified Activity Director and spent 12 years working at a skilled nursing facility providing recreational programs for the elderly. As a teaching artist at the Banana Factory, she enjoys teaching a wide range of art forms to children as well as adults. The past few years, she has been exploring the combination of art and technology, such as sewable electronics and using a CO2 laser as an art tool. She is a volunteer board member at Make Lehigh Valley, a non-profit makerspace in Allentown whose mission is to facilitate and encourage people to make things.
