1 Day Workshop

Monday, June 16 | 6-9 p.m.

Come celebrate the glorious sunsets and sunrises we are so blessed to experience daily by painting them in acrylic paint! Students are encouraged to bring a photo of a sunrise or sunset that resonates with them, and will leave this class with a finished painting that may display beautifully if they wish, and serve as a captured memory moment for years to come.

Whether they're brilliantly pink and orange or obscured by clouds with an air of nostalgia, each day the sun's arrival and departure are entirely unique. Students will receive guidance on the process of exploring and reinterpreting these wonderful moments with acrylic paint, bringing luminosity to life on canvas. This class will provide education about acrylic paint materials, techniques and skills for capturing the brilliance of the sun, designing and executing a finished painting on the canvas, and more. All experience levels are welcome! This class will provide the space and encouragement to focus and try something new in a mindful and nourishing way.

Alexandra Schnabel is a painter and art instructor who lives and works in Bucks County PA. Alexandra discovered her passion for oil painting at the Lehigh Valley Charter School for the Arts, and went on to earn her BFA from Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts. She now enjoys creating artwork that explores the human condition and the variable emotional experience in response to the visual world, with themes that ponder the self and relationship with how we engage with the world around us. Her paintings have been shown at venues such as The Allentown Art Museum, The Kimmel Center, Lehigh University and Phillips Mill Galleries. She teaches a variety of community based classes locally as well as private lessons and creativity mentorship programs out of her home studio.
