Wednesdays, June 11-August 6 | 12:30-3:30 p.m. *No class 7/2

This class is designed for pre-teen students to learn the basics of throwing & trimming on the wheel & basic hand building techniques, as well as glazing /finishing pieces. The last two week of class will be dedicated to students working on glazing their work. Fully fired pieces will be ready for pick up approximately 4 week following the last class. Emails will be sent out to the account used to register the class when work is ready for pick up.

Ellen Jamiolkowski is an artist who was born and raised in Northeastern PA. Being surrounded by nature all her life, it has become an enless source of inspiration for her. Ellen holds a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Ceramics from Tyler School of Art of Temple University and a Teaching Artist certificate from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. As a Teaching Artist, Ellen provides a hands-on learning experience with clay. Working with children, teens and adults in schools and in community settings, She teaches students essential handbuilding with clay techniques and decoration. Students will also experience the organic qualities of clay and make their own discoveries just by pinching, pulling and rolling the clay in their hands. Through this exploration, Ellen's hope is that each student finds their own creative voice and expression.

Location Information:
The ArtsQuest Ceramics Studio is located at 1801 Union Blvd, Allentown PA 18109 in Suite G. Entrance and parking are located in the back of the building, accessible by N Sherman Street. The entrance door is accessible via stairs or a ramp from the parking lot.
