December 2021 Volunteer Spotlight

Each month, our volunteer committee decides on volunteers to spotlight. For December 2021, we wanted to highlight the efforts of one volunteer who helps all throughout the year no matter the weather or event: Barb Seitzinger!

Q: What inspired you to begin volunteering?
A: As a social person I believe, “Service is the rent we pay for the space we use!” Been volunteering LONG before ArtsQuest. Music & the arts are a passion! I’ve met SO many nice folks that I consider them “my volunteer family!”

Q: What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
A: Favorites at the Café include: Rubix Kube, Eaglemania, The Stranger, Sofa Kings..so many! IN MY LIFE: Elton John, Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, Genesis, Bruce Springsteen, Chicago, The Eagles, Moody Blues & Paul McCartney, etc.

Q: Do you volunteer anywhere else besides ArtsQuest?
A: Besides ArtsQuest, currently I usher at State Theatre, Symphony Hall, PA Playhouse & Muhlenberg College Summer Theatre. FORMERLY, Dream Come True, Miller Blood Bank Fundraisers, Zoellner & Touchstone.

Q: It seems you enjoy travelling! What are some of your favorite destinations?
A: Traveling in my BIGGEST PASSION! US favorites: Yosemite National Park & other awesome National parks! Japan has a soft spot for me after living there for two years! I’ve visited almost every state, country, South America & Canada. ITALY is tops (5 visits to different areas) & 8+ visits to Germany! Every place is a unique, treasured experience.

Q: If you could pick any act to play at Musikfest, who would you pick and why?
A: Musical winners if BUDGET ALLOWS: The Eagles, Genesis, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Moody Blues, Chicago, REO Speedwagon, & Journey. Guess you can tell my taste in music!

Q: What do you like to do during the holidays?
A: Holidays should be filled with FAMILY, FRIENDS, church, music & travel (NYC Broadway shows, Rockefeller Tree, etc. are ATTAINABLE!). I have prepared my traditional lasagna for 40+ years. Blessed to spend time with my wonderful 4 grandchildren is “MY REWARD FOR NOT KILLING MY KIDS!” Ha ha! I value my family & friends from HS, traveling, along the way AND MY VOLUNTEER FAMILY!
