ARTSQUEST CONDUCT AND SPEECH GUIDELINES

ArtsQuest is firmly committed to providing safe and secure properties for its patrons, guests, employees, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, exhibitors, performers, presenters, contractors, suppliers and all other business partners (“Partners”). Moreover, ArtsQuest always seeks to provide a pleasant and stress-free environment for all of its Partners, especially patrons and guests, at ArtsQuest events throughout the year. Finally, ArtsQuest is committed to the treatment of all of its Partners with dignity and respect and without regard to age, race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, caste or socio-economic status.

The Banana Factory Arts Center, including the parking lot and the landscaped terraces adjacent to the building, the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks®, including the portion of the Air Products Town Square in front of the ArtsQuest Center, as well as PNC Plaza and the adjoining portion of the PNC Parking Lot, are private properties that are owned by ArtsQuest. The Bethlehem Visitors Center and the Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks are properties which are leased by ArtsQuest. During Musikfest, and certain other ArtsQuest events, ArtsQuest is granted further leases for parking lots as well as use permits for certain parks and streets by the City of Bethlehem. Collectively, for purposes of this policy, these properties will be referred to as the “AQ Properties”.

In an attempt to maintain the AQ Properties in a manner consistent with the commitments outlined above, ArtsQuest seeks the assistance of all Partners in creating a safe environment by asking that all Partners address each other in a respectful manner, avoid any loud, rude, hateful, or vulgar language and demonstrate patience and understanding with all other persons. ArtsQuest has zero tolerance for any violent, abusive, or hateful behaviors, either physical, verbal, or visual (including words on clothing, signs, etc.), which may create a climate of hostility, harassment, intimidation, harmful stereotypes or lack of respect. Anyone who observes these types of behaviors is encouraged to report same to the nearest ArtsQuest staff member or volunteer. Anyone demonstrating these types of behaviors on AQ Properties, in the sole discretion of ArtsQuest or its event services staff, will be asked to leave or be escorted off AQ Properties by ArtsQuest personnel or security.
