ArtsQuest Launches ArtsQuest Artist Studios at 930 Hamilton

New Rent-Subsidized Studio Spaces Available for Local Artists

Bethlehem, Lehigh Valley, PA, August 26, 2025 – ArtsQuest is proud to announce the launch of the ArtsQuest Artist Studios at 930 Hamilton Street in the heart of downtown Allentown, opening in March 2026. This new initiative offers affordable, rent-subsidized studio spaces to regional artists seeking a dedicated space to work, collaborate and engage with the local community.

Located near popular venues such as Archer Music Hall and the Moxy Hotel, the ArtsQuest Artist Studios aims to strengthen Allentown’s growing creative economy while advancing ArtsQuest’s mission to provide the public with increased access to the arts, culture and educational programs.

Opportunities for Studio Artists Include:

  • 21 subsidized studio spaces ranging from 200-900 sq. ft. below market rate
  • 24/7 secure access to the building for artists
  • Paid teaching opportunities for classes at ArtsQuest, as well as artist residencies and community outreach program opportunities through the PA Council for the Arts
  • Exhibition opportunities, which include a location for displaying artwork at ArtsQuest, a rotating monthly feature during Third Thursday
  • Shared lounge, exhibition space and artist gathering areas to encourage collaboration
  • Access to essential amenities including:
    • Two restrooms on each floor
    • A spray booth
    • A slop sink on each floor
  • Street parking and parking garage located behind the building

Artists must demonstrate dedication to their craft, a collaborative spirit and alignment with ArtsQuest’s mission of providing the community with access to arts, culture and educational programs. Artists will be intentionally included in the broader ArtsQuest artist network, with regular discussions to ensure awareness of new opportunities including teaching, residencies and exhibitions.

Applications are reviewed by a selection committee including ArtsQuest staff, members of the Visual Arts Board, community stakeholders and local artists. Applications remain active for one year. Due to high interest, a waitlist of pre-reviewed applicants will be maintained and prioritized as studios become available.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to offer affordably priced studios to artists in the heart of Allentown, which will expand our creative community and contribute to the vibrancy of the neighborhood,” said Lisa Harms, ArtsQuest Sr. Director of Visual Arts and Education.

The space is ideal for Allentown-based and western Lehigh Valley artists looking for a professional studio space that’s closer to home.

ArtsQuest is actively seeking a diverse range of artists, working in different mediums and at various stages in their careers to apply.
