May 2025 Volunteer Spotlight: Debbie Svites

This month I’m very excited to spotlight one of our newest ArtsQuest Ambassadors, Debbie Svites! Debbie has become one of our most reliable volunteers who is willing to do any shift or task we ask! Everything from the Cinema to EcoSquad at one of the big 3 events, she’ll be there helping in any capacity she can.  

Q:  How did you start getting involved with Volunteering with us here at ArtsQuest?
A: In 2012 I started volunteering with a co-worker for Musikfest and Christkindlmarkt. I think over the years I have volunteered for all of the festivals. I enjoy meeting people and giving back to my community.

Q: As a recent graduate of our ambassador program, what was your experience like? To anyone on the fence about applying to be an ambassador in the future, would you have any words of advice for them?
A: I would definitely recommend the ambassador class to everyone. I enjoyed the classes and gained a lot of knowledge.   

Q: What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of volunteering here at ArtsQuest? 
A: I like reading, traveling, having a vegetable garden and taking walks on the rail trail and being out in nature.
