1,000+ Hour Volunteers Recognized

The Bethlehem Steel Stacks have been quiet for many years. The clanging and crashing of industry came to a halt, left by a silence that very easily could have haunted this town. Instead, there was a group of ambitious people who got together and said: “we can get the noise going again,” we can replace the steam and grind with songs and guitars. It just took that initial spark in 1984 to reignite a flame that Bethlehem feared it was losing, and it was that brief, almost impossible flash that led to everything you see before you today.

The following 27 people have logged in over 1000 hours in the Volunteer Portal and combined have a total of 50,246 hours! Their belief in the ArtsQuest mission has quite literally propped this organization up and made it what it is today. Each of the 27 people will have their names enshrined in a glass plate as a reminder to all of what they have accomplished here in Bethlehem. The bright orange flame represents the light that each person has brought to this community and the lasting impact they will have on the fire we’ve managed to tend since those furnaces went dark.

The light of their flames will ensure that the Steel Stacks will never go dark again!
