Intro to Relief Printing (Session B)
In this 3 week class students will learn the basics to relief printing, from getting an image on your block to carving techniques, coloring mixing and ink choices. Students will using easy to carve blocks, perfect for beginners! Block printing is the oldest form of printmaking, and is an enduring way to make bold, graphic illustrations. Linoleum/ easy carve blocks makes this process an affordable and approachable medium. Students will leave with a small edition of prints, and the skills to work on their own at home.

Introduction to Wheelthrowing with Nasia Palaios
Discover the art of pottery in this hands-on introduction to wheel throwing. Designed specifically for adults with little to no experience, this class provides a supportive environment where you'll learn and build the foundational techniques of creating functional ceramic pieces on the potter’s wheel. Throughout the course, students will be guided step-by-step through the steps of wheel throwing, including proper clay preparation, centering, opening, pulling walls, and shaping forms such as cups, bowls, and cylinders. You'll also be introduced to basic trimming and surface treatment techniques to refine and craft a thrown form start to finish. No prior experience is necessary. Your instructor will provide individualized guidance to help you build confidence and develop your skills at your own pace. While wheel throwing can be challenging at first, patience and practice make the process both rewarding and one to remember. All tools, equipment, and clay are provided. Depending on the class format, students may also have the opportunity to glaze and fire selected pieces, creating finished, functional works. Whether you're looking to explore a new creative hobby, reduce stress through hands-on art making, or simply experience the act of creating something with your own hands, this introductory class offers the perfect place to begin your pottery journey. Come prepared to get your hands dirty, have fun, and discover the wonderful craft of wheel throwing.

This exciting FREE program is part of a partnership between ArtsQuest and The Bethlehem Area Public Library. Join us as we look, listen, sing, and have fun with picture books in the all new ArtsQuest Creative Factory powered by PPL. Led by Bethlehem Area Public Library librarians and ArtsQuest staff members, we will celebrate pictures books with a different art theme each week. Toddler Storytime runs from September through the beginning of June, every Thursday at 10-10:30 a.m., with a Bilingual/Spanish Toddler Storytime every second Thursday of the month.
