This month, we are happy to spotlight one of our ArtsQuest Ambassadors, Deb Moyer! Deb first joined us in 2019 as a Volksplatz Ticket Assistant at Musikfest, and she has been volunteering with us ever since. Over the years, she has helped with every event we host and in every role imaginable, making her a familiar face to volunteers and staff alike. We appreciate all her time and effort over the years and will be cheering her on as she marches towards 1,000 hours!
Question: How did you get started volunteering with us here at ArtsQuest? What keeps you coming back to volunteer here?
Answer: I started volunteering at ArtsQuest after a conversation with my friend, Jen (also a volunteer) who thought I would enjoy doing Musikfest together and encouraged me to apply.
That was in 2019 and the rest is history. I completed the Ambassador Program in 2020 and look forward to the festivals and shows throughout the year as I hope to hit the 1000-hour mark sometime in the not-too-distant future!
What keeps me coming back is ArtsQuest’s mission, events and services provided to the community, the people (ArtsQuest family of volunteers and staff) as well as the atmosphere and environment.
Question: What is a fun fact about yourself other volunteers would be surprised to know about you?
Answer: A fun fact that may be surprising to others is that I got my claim to fame after being in two WFMZ Channel 69 commercials for a Wholesale Carpet business in my younger days back in the 80’s- The Wholesale Price Is Right and Wholesale Wheel of Fortune.
Question: Do you have a favorite show you have seen while volunteering for any ArtsQuest event? (Could be from Levitt, Musikfest Cafe, Steel Stage etc.)
Answer: My favorite shows, I have more than one, are Tusk and Magical Mystery Doors as well as their Zeppelin Reimagined show. At Levitt it would have to be the Sting/Police Tribute.
