Hello Everyone!
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about some upcoming opportunities that will be popping up on the volunteer portal soon!
As many of you have probably already noticed, Oktoberfest is live and filling up quickly. We’re still looking for some extra help on Saturdays, so if you’d like to come out and help with pouring beers for some thirsty festivalgoers, we’d love to have you. Oktoberfest is one of my favorite events of the year, and it’s a great chance to enjoy the fall atmosphere while volunteering.
On Thursday, September 3rd, a new round of Musikfest Café shows will be released for qualified ushers. Later on in the month, we’ll also be releasing Christkindlmarkt volunteer shifts, so keep an eye out for more information! As we’ve done in prior years, those who have 20 or more years of Christkindlmarkt volunteering will get early access to shift selection before it opens to all other volunteers. Yes, I know, it feels a little ridiculous to be talking about Christkindlmarkt already. Didn’t Musikfest just end?
I also wanted to highlight an exciting new opportunity. As many of you know, the ArtsQuest Creative Factory, Powered by PPL, is scheduled to begin its soft opening in November. A lot of volunteers have been eager to get involved in the new space, and we’re excited to announce that comedy show opportunities at the ABARTA Coca-Cola Stage located inside the Joe & Corey Bergstein Theater will be available on September 3 as well.
These opportunities will no longer appear under the same section Visitor Center Comedy Shows did. Instead, you’ll find them under the new ArtsQuest Creative Factory section when browsing available shifts.
Because this is a brand-new venue and we expect demand to be high, we’re asking volunteers to follow the same guidelines we use for Musikfest Café shows. For the first month these shifts are available, please limit yourself to one Creative Factory comedy shift per month. This helps give everyone a fair chance to experience the new space. After the next schedule release, any remaining shifts will be open for volunteers to pick up without restrictions.
As always, thank you for your help! None of this is possible without the dedication of every single volunteer!
