Looking to try something new this summer? ArtsQuest offers workshops and sessions for both beginners and more experienced artists. Whether you’re interested in fiber arts, watercolor, glassmaking, or printmaking, these classes are a chance to learn a new skill, escape the summer heat, and make something completely unique to you. No previous experience is needed for most classes, just come ready to learn and create.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work with molten glass? In this 20-minute experience, you will work side by side with ArtsQuest Glass Staff to transform hot glass into a one-of-a-kind object. Your piece will need 48 hours to cool before pickup, so plan accordingly.
Jun 18 – Watercolor and Embroidery Workshop

Spend an evening combining two art forms; watercolor and embroidery. Local artist Rachel Cavotta will share her knowledge of basic stitches and watercolor techniques to walk you through the process of creating detailed designs. By the end of the workshop, you will have made your very own embroidery hoop.

Over the course of three Tuesday evenings, artist Gabriella Gentile will cover the basics of an older form of image making; relief printing. Participants of this 3-week workshop will learn to carve, ink, and create a collection of prints using blocks for beginners.

Do you have a jacket, bag, tote, or other personal belongings that could use some reimagining? Bring it to this workshop! Artist Alma Star will guide you through the process of designing original patches and hand sewing them on different materials. Pre-cut patches will also be provided.
July 7 – Goth Sewn Plushie Workshop (Session A)

Interested in sewing and spooky themes? In this 3-hour workshop, artist Alma Star will introduce participants to basic hand sewing techniques and connect them to an animal or spirit guide. By the end of the class, each person will leave the workshop with a unique ghoul plushie.


July 8 – Color, Materials, and Process (Session B)

Over a four-week period, artist Emily Campbell will introduce participants to drawing, painting, and general mixed media through demonstrations and guided practice. Designed for those looking to dedicate more time to creating, this workshop offers the opportunity to mix mediums and work on multiple projects.

Taking place over the course of three weeks, this workshop gives participants more time to explore various watercolor techniques. Artist Rachel Cavotta will share how to create vibrant and realistic paintings among multiple sessions, and the class will conclude with the creation of one final polished piece per person. This workshop also serves as a follow-up for those who have taken the single session watercolor workshop and would like to continue exploring the medium.


July 18 – Embroidered Felt Keychain Charm Workshop
