It’s officially June, and that means summer is right around the corner. We’ve lined up a packed month of talented performers and exciting events at our Highmark Blue Shield Community Stage, located on the Air Products Town Square. From evening jazz jams to high energy yet diverse rock/pop/indie performances, as well as a display of cultural pride through the return of our ¡Sabor! Latin Festival presented by Highmark Blue Shield, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the beautiful weather. Jazz Jam – June 4
Artisan Trio, a jazz group with guitarist Joe Mixon, bassist Brian Bortz, and drummer Vern Mobley, lead an interactive Jazz Jam experience, including blues and funk. Instrumentalists and vocalists are encouraged to participate, and participants will be provided with the opportunity to record a live demo.
JL Duo – June 5
JL Duo is an experienced musical pair that has spent over a decade making music together. Their various music styles include Jazz + Soul, Pop + Soft Rock, and Musical Theater. The vocalist, Jackie, has been singing her entire life and is greatly inspired by her emotional connection to music, and the guitarist, Les, a contributing artist to a Grammy-winning project, brings 40 years of experience and a humorous charm to the duo.
Hannah Noel Band – June 6
Hannah Noel is a dynamic, self-taught, local musician who shares her live music in various cities across the NJ/PA area. Over the past four years as a full-time musical artist, Hannah has been recognized for her versatility as she seamlessly switches between genres such as; pop, rock, country tunes, and indie music. Heavily inspired by artists like Lizzy McAlpine, Miley Cyrus, and Kacey Musgraves, she performs both as a captivating solo act and locally with a band, bringing a high-energy presence to the stage.
Ava Hoffman Band – June 13
Fronted by a powerful female lead vocalist; Ava Hoffman, this group, joined by four other talented musicians, strives to bring energy, versatility, and excitement to the stage. Performing a wide variety of songs from different generations and genres, they ensure that there will be something for you to recognize, sing along to, and enjoy. You won’t want to miss the unforgettable atmosphere they create!
Danny’s Caribbean Jam – June 18
Danny’s Caribbean Jam is a popular Latin group in the Lehigh Valley that specializes in Caribbean tunes, salsa, merengue, and bachata. They frequently perform at local cultural festivals and beach park events.
¡Sabor! Latin Festival presented by Highmark Blue Shield – June 26
La Mega Live Happy Hour – 5pm
Kick off ¡Sabor! Latin Festival presented by Highmark Blue Shield with La Mega Live Happy Hour! Featuring a live DJ presenting non-stop Latin tracks through La Mega radio, this event will set the stage for the rest of the night and is designed to bring the community together and get the party started.
Puerto Rican Flag Raising Ceremony – 6pm
This ceremony is the final community event before the musical celebrations of the festival! It will feature U.S. and Puerto Rican National Anthems, as well as inspiring words from community speakers. Come celebrate community, pride, and heritage!
Fabricio Orihuela – 6:30pm
Fabricio is an independent musician, singer and guitarist from Uruguay specializing in high-energy Latin pop. Now a proud resident of the Lehigh Valley, he loves sharing his passion for Spanish music with the local audiences. As a dedicated independent artist, Fabricio is constantly inspiring others to pursue their musical dreams.
Herencia Jibara – 10pm
Herencia Jibara is a passionate Puerto Rican folk group bringing the rhythmic sounds of the Caribbean to the stage. Specializing in a variety of Spanish genres from salsa, merengue, and bachata, to plena, and more, the group provides an authentic performance by incorporating Spanish instruments in their set. Herencia Jibara truly aims to honor their heritage through each performance.
¡Sabor! Latin Festival presented by Highmark Blue Shield – June 27
Grupo Folclórico – Portugal no Coração – 4:30pm
Catch a wonderful presentation of heritage with Grupo Folclórico – Portugal no Coração! This traditional Portuguese dance group from Bethlehem is heavily involved and dedicated to celebrating culture, unity and tradition through their community events and lively/energetic performances.
Grupo Hipnosis – 7pm
Don’t miss a captivating performance by Grupo Hipnosis. Led by singer, musical director, arranger, and producer Adrian Anthony who brings live experience from Puerto Rico to the US, this band targets a variety of styles; from Merengue/Salsa, reggaeton, cumbia, boleros, to popular English tunes with a Latin twist. Group Hipnosis will have you dancing all evening!
Pancho Bongo – 10pm
Founded by enthusiastic percussionist Pancho Bongo, Pancho Bongo Y Su Orquestra brings a lineup of countless talented performers and professionals to the stage. With experience bringing high-energy, danceable performances to night clubs and festivals, this group mainly plays classic salsa, merengue and Latin jazz. Get ready to move!
