Veterans Day
November 10, 2026
ArtsQuest, in partnership with Embassy Bank and Phoebe Ministries, will be hosting the annual Veterans Day Q&A panel on Tuesday, November 10 at 6:00 pm in the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas, located on the first floor of the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. The event will feature a panel discussion of veterans reflecting on their military service and the experiences that shaped their lives during and after their time in the armed forces. The discussion will be moderated by Chris Yarnell, Executive Director of Battle Borne.
After the panel, ArtsQuest will have a special free screening of the film “Flags of Our Fathers”. Based on the 2000 book of the same name written by James Bradley and Ron Powers about the 1945 Battle of Iwo Jima, this film tells the story the five Marines and one Navy corpsman who were involved in raising the flag on Iwo Jima, and the aftereffects of that event on their lives. Taken from the American viewpoint of the Battle of Iwo Jima, the film is a companion piece to Eastwood’s Letters from Iwo Jima, which depicts the same battle from the Japanese viewpoint; the two films were shot back-to-back. Rated R. Run time 2h15min.
Admission to the event and film screening is free for guests 13+ with a parent or guardian, but advance ticket reservations are required. The panel discussion will also be livestreamed on ArtsQuest’s Facebook and YouTube channels, with a recording available on YouTube following the event.
