The Swell
The Swell is a Bethlehem, Pennsylvania-based cover band led by brothers Travis & Tanner Brown, trading lead guitars & vocals. Raised on their parents’ vinyl collection and their drummer dad Andy’s basement jam sessions, the brothers grew up surrounded by sound.
When the pandemic hit, the Browns turned lockdown into a nightly underground workshop, sharpening their chops and building a varied set list that blended their musical tastes. Once restrictions lifted, Steve Millheim – who had played with Andy for years in the hard-driving alternative band the Unknowns – joined on bass, and The Swell officially took shape. The lineup later expanded to include Eric Rusack (a past Lehigh Valley Music Award Winner with The Riffters) on guitar, bass and vocals.
What began with basement videos that caught fire on social media soon evolved into packed live shows. The Swell delivers a dynamic mix of classics from The Beatles, Hendrix, Stones, Bowie & the Eagles to the modern sounds of Green Day, Foo Fighters, Blink 182 and nearly everything in between. Elvis, Chuck Berry & Johnny Cash also make frequent appearances in The Swell’s sets.
