Reflections: Painting Water in Acrylic Workshop
Have you ever gone to paint water and found yourself reaching for light blue, but then realizing, “wait, look at all those reflections! How do I paint that?”
Water is transparent, ever changing in surface appearance, and as reflective as reflective gets. This class will guide students through their choice of provided landscapes including water and distinctive reflections, exploring the nuances involved and discovering new techniques to approach and depict water reflections! Students may bring a photo of their choice if they’d like, but for those who prefer more structure in a class, we will have a selection of images following one primary reflection motif, for demonstration and guidance.
Alexandra Schnabel
Alexandra Schnabel is a painter and art instructor who lives and works in Bucks County PA. Alexandra discovered her passion for oil painting at the Lehigh Valley Charter School for the Arts, and went on to earn her BFA from Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts. She now enjoys creating artwork that explores the human condition and the variable emotional experience in response to the visual world, with themes that ponder the self and relationship with how we engage with the world around us. She frequently shows locally and enjoys engaging with the local art community, however she’s always looking forward to her next adventure in plein air painting, traveling, and collecting inspiration and experience with the visual world. She teaches a variety of community based classes locally as well as private lessons and creativity mentorship programs out of her home studio.
