Acrylic Painting Basics

This 4-week studio course introduces learners to a range of drawing and painting materials through guided, hands-on projects. Participants will develop foundational skills in observation, color, light, shadow, and material processes while exploring pastel, watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media techniques in a supportive and engaging environment. Each session includes demonstrations, guided practice, and time to develop individual work.

Emily Campbell

Emily Campbell holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art from Maryland Institute College of Art and a BA in Visual Arts from Mercyhurst University. Her work has been exhibited at Dutoit Gallery, Indiana University, the Institute of Contemporary Art Baltimore, IA & A at Hillyer, Arlington Arts Center, Delaware Contemporary, School 33 Art Center, Maryland Art Place, and the Erie Art Museum. She has been an artist-in-residence at Can Serrat, Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, Vermont Studio Center, and Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild. Campbell maintains an interdisciplinary studio practice encompassing painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation. She currently teaches as an adjunct art instructor at Lafayette College.
