Behind the Screens: Booking Films at an Independent Theater
Ever wonder how movies get booked at your local cinema? Who decides what plays, when it plays, and how a movie makes its way from a distributor to the big screen? Or maybe you’ve just wondered what actually happens behind that little window in the projection booth?
Join us at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas for a fun, behind-the-scenes look at the world of theatrical exhibition with Senior Programming Manager Anthony DeSanctis. Learn how films are booked, how cinemas decide what to play, and all the moving pieces that go into putting a movie on the big screen.
This two-hour seminar will include a behind-the-scenes presentation, movie trivia, plenty of time for questions, and, of course, there may be a few free film passes up for grabs along the way!
Come curious, bring your movie knowledge, and go behind the silver screen to see how the movies actually get to you.
