Bethlehem, Lehigh Valley, PA, September 17, 2026 – ArtsQuest today announced multi-platinum recording artist and American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken will be returning to Bethlehem to perform at the Musikfest Café on March 4.
Following his breakout run on the second season of American Idol, Aiken headlined Musikfest in 2004, drawing tremendous demand for tickets, and returned to headline the festival again in 2005. He has since performed at the Musikfest Cafe in 2012.
On March 4, he’ll return for an intimate performance featuring new music, a catalog of fan favorites, and a voice that first introduced him to millions. Tickets can be purchased at artsquest.org.
“Clay Aiken has a special history with our audiences, so we’re thrilled to welcome him back to Bethlehem,” said Patrick Brogan, Chief Programming Officer at ArtsQuest. “From those unforgettable Musikfest appearances more than 20 years ago to his performances at the Musikfest Café, Clay has built a lasting connection with fans here in the Lehigh Valley. To have him return as he begins this exciting new chapter in his music career makes this show particularly special.”
America first fell in love with Aiken’s extraordinary voice and charisma during the second season of American Idol. Nearly 40 million viewers watched the season finale, launching Aiken into a recording career that would make him one of the most successful artists to emerge from the groundbreaking television series.
His debut single, “This Is the Night,” entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 1, while his debut album, Measure of a Man, debuted atop the Billboard 200 and went multi-platinum. “Invisible” became another signature hit, and his chart-topping Merry Christmas with Love established Aiken as a major presence in holiday music. During the first seven years of his recording career, he sold more than six million albums worldwide. His rich tenor voice, emotional delivery, and ability to effortlessly move between contemporary pop, adult contemporary, inspirational music, and timeless standards have earned him a loyal, multi-generational audience
Aiken’s career has also taken him from concert stages to Broadway. He appeared in Monty Python’s Spamalot and reunited with fellow American Idol finalist Ruben Studdard in 2018 for the Broadway production Ruben & Clay’s First Annual Christmas Carol Family Fun Pageant Spectacular Reunion Show. The pair reunited again in 2023 for a tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their landmark American Idol season and competed together as The Beets on Fox’s The Masked Singer in 2024.
In 2026, Aiken returned to recording with “Rewind,” his first new music in 18 years. Written by Colton Avery and Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter Dave Audé and produced by Audé, the single launched a new creative chapter for Aiken and preceded his first full-length studio album in nearly two decades, scheduled for release Sept. 25, 2026. Aiken debuted “Rewind” during a return to the American Idol stage for the show’s season finale.
Beyond entertainment, Aiken has devoted much of his career to advocating for children with disabilities. Drawing on his experience working in special education before American Idol, he co-founded the National Inclusion Project in 2003 to help children with disabilities participate in camps, after-school programs and community activities. He also served for a decade as a UNICEF ambassador, advocating internationally for children’s education and protection.
