Another successful Christkindlmarkt is in the books! Thank you to everyone who dedicated time and energy to spreading holiday cheer.

Bill Watson has been a cornerstone of Musikfest since day one, 1984! Yes, you read that right: he’s volunteered at every single Musikfest since its inception. Bill is truly one of the legends behind what has grown into the largest non-gated free music festival in the United States. Volunteers like Bill, who were there from the start, are the reason this incredible event has become what it is today.

Brenda has been an incredible part of our team since joining us at Musikfest 2023! Since then, she’s stepped up to help at nearly every ArtsQuest event. Brenda is a trained Musikfest Café usher, has supported the roving EcoSquad on the Northside during Musikfest, and is a familiar face as a booth attendant at Christkindlmarkt. 

This month, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on one of our most dedicated volunteers, Bill Gerencher! For an incredible 35 years, Bill has been a cornerstone of Musikfest, taking on a wide range of responsibilities, from serving as a Site Supervisor in the past to most recently monitoring the Luckenbach Mill during weekday shifts. Bill’s commitment doesn’t stop there, he’s also a familiar face at Christkindlmarkt, where he helps vendors by booth sitting during their breaks. Volunteering at ArtsQuest has truly become a family tradition for Bill, with his children and grandchildren all sharing in the spirit of giving back. We’re grateful for Bill’s decades of service and the lasting impact he’s made on our community. Thank you, Bill, for everything you do!
