Improv 301 with Justin Passino

This Improv 301 will be teaching The Monoscene Harold.

In this class we will be taking elements from two classic improv forms (The Harold and The Monoscene) and combining them into one, singular form: The Monoscene Harold. All scenes will take place in a singular location with no edits, tags, cut-to’s or sweeps. Students will focus on patient, grounded scene-work and strong, committed characters as they navigate multiple smaller “scenes” within a larger, unedited scene, all while heightening and exploring the established world.

Students must be 18 or older by the first day of class. Students must also have graduated from Improv 101 and 201 at SteelStacks or have equivalent experience.

Justin Passino has been performing improv since 2016. He studied at both ArtsQuest and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in NY where he was accepted into the Advanced Study/UCB Academy program. Past instructors include Will Hines, James Dwyer, Cathryn Moudon, Nicole Drespel, John Timothy and Alexandra Dickson. He has been coaching/teaching improv both independently and through ArtsQuest since 2018. His teaching/performing philosophy focuses largely on finding “Game”, playing with patterns and strong character commitment.

Justin performs regularly with his teams Cobra, Staycation, We Love Dogs, The Great Old Ones, and Creamy & Crunchy all around the Lehigh Valley. He has also performed in Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore, D.C., Lancaster and one time at a Seafood Festival in Easton. You can also find him performing in the House Teams program at SteelStacks.
When he’s not performing or teaching, Justin enjoys trying to keep his house plants alive and re-watching HBO’s Succession for the 100th time.
