Painting Flowers in Acrylic

We will use Acrylics to capture the natural beauty of many types of flowers, along with their background environments. I will encourage students to paint in their natural style of impressionistic, realism or expressive, Floral painting is a great way to get started in any painting venture as it is forgiving and allows students some room to overcome imperfections in their pieces. We will create 2 paintings over the course of 8 weeks using an 18 X 24 size canvas or another canvas of their choice. I work independently with all students and there is no drawing experience needed prior to taking this class. We will have nightly critiques to provide guidance on their pieces.

Nancy Sullivan

I am a Rutgers University graduate with a Bachelor of Art in Illustration and a minor in Piano performance. I recently retired from a career in the insurance industry and I have been teaching art to children and adults at the Northampton Community college, the ArtsQuest and the Forks Art Association for the past 3 years. I also teach after school art for kids through the ArtQuest ArtSmart program. I have been drawing and painting since I was five years old and I just love to teach! My classes are fun and entertaining. I also have a business called, “Lines, Tigers, and Bears” where I do individual commissioned art pieces,. My work is currently on display at the Forks Art Association cottage on Zucksville road in Easton, Pa.
