Designed especially for the holidays, the Christmas City Stroll is a casual, comfortable walk (evening tours are led by lantern) through Bethlehem’s Historic District that explores the city’s 280-plus years of history starting with its founding in 1741.

Discover Bethlehem’s rich traditions and holiday heritage in a totally different way as you visit the taverns and historic locations of Main Street. You’ll learn about the Marquis de Lafayette’s ties to Bethlehem, the early Moravians’ views on brewing and much more. It all culminates as you step inside Historic Hotel Bethlehem beautifully decorated for the holidays and enjoy a glass of Moravian Gluhwein.

A popular attraction for guests from near and far, Trees of Historic Bethlehem is a self-guided tour that features 20-plus Christmas trees beautifully decorated by members of the local Bethlehem Garden Club and sponsored by small businesses from throughout the community. This year’s exhibition showcases the top Christmas Trees and themes from the past two decades, making it a must-see while you’re in the Christmas City!

Branching Out: Moravian Museum Admission & Tour of Nearby Historic Sites
Discover Bethlehem’s rich history and learn about Moravian Church Settlements-Bethlehem — the nation’s newest World Heritage Site — by visiting the Moravian Museum in the 1741 Gemeinhaus, the oldest building in the city, and touring nearby historic buildings. You’ll visit the Single Sisters’ House, part of the Moravian Church Settlements–Bethlehem World Heritage Site; the 1752 Apothecary, which until its closing in the 1950s was the oldest pharmacy in continuous operation in the United States; and the Nain-Schober House, the only extant 18th-century building built by and lived in by Indigenous Peoples in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Working Hands: Supplying a Revolution explores the complex and often conflicted role of Bethlehem’s Moravian community during the American Revolution.
Guided by a deep commitment to spiritual life and missionary work, the Moravians had long avoided political entanglements. However, the start of the Revolutionary War disrupted this neutrality, forcing them to navigate a world where refusal to take sides could be seen as disloyalty.
Baked into Bethlehem
From Moravian sugar cakes baked in beehive ovens to iconic bakeries such as Groman’s, baking has long been at the heart of Bethlehem’s story. “Baked into Bethlehem” celebrates baking as a living tradition, one that preserves history, unites generations and reflects the city’s diverse cultural spirit.
