Artist Statement:
My ceramic practice centers on the meditative process of handbuilding; the intimate, tactile exchange between material, emotion, and imagination. I approach clay as a partner in dialogue, letting each form take shape in its own time and direction. My work is less about perfection and more about presence; the rhythm, texture, and quiet discoveries that come from working with my hands.
With a background in Expressive Arts Therapy, I’m deeply connected to the ways art-making can ground, heal, and connect us. I see the studio as a space for reflection and transformation, where the act of creating is just as meaningful as what emerges from it.
There’s also a lot of joy in my process. I love bringing humor and personality into my work; creating characters that feel alive, imperfect, and full of attitude. Those playful moments remind me that art doesn’t have to be serious to be sincere; it can make us laugh, surprise us, and still hold something deeply human.
