Musikfest Volunteer Spotlight: Mark Ludlow & Mike Nemes

Each month, the Volunteer Committee selects a volunteer to spotlight for the positive impact they make volunteering here at ArtsQuest across all our events. In the spirit of Musikfest, the Committee wanted to recognize two additional volunteers whose contributions help to keep the festival running smoothly behind the scenes.

First, we’d like to recognize Mark Ludlow. Mark has been a fixture at Musikfest for years, spending every day of the festival serving as an Alcohol Supervisor at various platzes. He’s the person making sure the kegs keep flowing and is always willing to jump in wherever help is needed. While many guests may never realize it, his work is essential to keeping operations running smoothly. After all, a Musikfest without beer is not a situation anyone wants to imagine.

The committee would also like to recognize Mike Nemes. Like Mark, Mike is at Musikfest every single day, serving as a Central Supply Supervisor. Over the years, Mike has logged more than 1,500 volunteer hours, mostly all in Central Supply as the supervisor at Musikfest. Central Supply is truly the backbone of Musikfest, providing sites with ice, water, merchandise, disposable supplies, and countless other resources. If a platz is running low on mugs, Mike and his team are the people who get them there. If a vendor needs ice, they’re already on it. Their work keeps every corner of the festival supplied and ready to serve guests.

While volunteers like Mark and Mike may not always be the most visible faces of Musikfest, their dedication, reliability, and willingness to work behind the scenes make a tremendous impact. Please join us in thanking them for everything they do to help make Musikfest a success year after year.
