48-Hour Film Challenge: Horror Edition
Get ready to take part in a thrilling cinematic adventure!
From October 16-18, teams will take on the challenge of creating a captivating 3–5-minute short horror film in just under 48 hours.
On October 16 at 7:30 PM, a Zoom link will be sent to the registrants for a brief Q&A to receive a brief summary of the challenge and have the chance to ask any questions.
At exactly 8:00 PM, teams will be emailed their assigned prompts:
- A character name
- A random line of dialogue
- A specific prop
- And a couple of other surprises!
Other rules:
- Films must adhere to content standards similar to those of a PG-13 rating
- No copyrighted music is allowed without proper documentation

Please ensure proper permission has been received to film anywhere that may require so.

Any film featuring an ArtsQuest staff or committee member is not eligible for awards but may still be screened during the Finished Films Screening as an out-of-competition selection.

The completed films will be showcased on the big screen at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas on Sunday, November 1st at 6 PM* The winning team will receive $200 and score a 6-month film pass.
