START MAKING SENSE - Talking Heads Tribute

The music of Talking Heads has excited, inspired, and healed folks worldwide since their first show at CBGB’s in 1975. If David Byrne is one of the geniuses of modern times, then Start Making Sense is a tribute to genius. The musicians in this seven-piece band celebrate the entire Talking Heads’ catalog, meticulously executing the sounds and iconic live visual elements in every performance, bringing so much of the Heads unique live show that you know and love to the stage.

Jon Fadem

Opening act, Jon Fadem, has been playing guitar since he was 13, and went on to study music at Oberlin College and Conservatory in Oberlin, OH. His biggest musical heroes are Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Jeff Beck, Sly & the Family Stone, John Coltrane, Parliament/Funkadelic, and Frank Zappa. He is a founding member, musical director, and lead guitarist for Start Making Sense, the renowned, internationally touring Talking Heads Tribute band. They have been together since 2009 and regularly tour all around the country. His original band Post Junction is a funk/rock/soul/jam band that was featured in the book ‘Jam Bands: North America’s Hottest Live Bands’. Life After Dead is a Grateful Dead tribute band, and Keystone: Jerry Garcia Tribute plays music from the Jerry Garcia Band and The Grateful Dead. Additionally, Jon often performs solo shows using a looper pedal and a wide variety of effects, to create the sound of a full band, all performed live by one person. Some of the many artists he covers at solo shows include Stevie Wonder, The Grateful Dead, Prince, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Beatles, Bill Withers, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, and Radiohead. Jon was nominated Best Guitarist in the Lehigh Valley Music Awards for six consecutive years.
