48-Hour Film Challenge: Sci-Fi Edition
Get ready to take part in a thrilling cinematic adventure!
From July 10th – July 12th, teams will take on the challenge of creating a captivating 3–5-minute short film in just under 48 hours.
On July 12th at 7:30 PM, a Zoom link will be sent to the registrants for a brief Q&A to receive a brief summary of the challenge and have the chance to ask any questions.
At exactly 8:00 PM, teams will be emailed their assigned prompts:
– A character name
– A random line of dialogue
– A specific prop
– And a couple of other surprises!
Other rules:
– Films must adhere to content standards similar to those of a PG-13 rating
– No copyrighted music is allowed without proper documentation
– Please ensure proper permission has been received to film anywhere that may require so.
– NO GENERATIVE AI may have been used in any part of the film which includes marketing materials, with the EXCEPTION of standard machine-learning “AI-labeled” editing tools. For eligibility questions, please email adesanctis@artsquest.org
And then the countdown begins!
The completed films will be showcased on the big screen at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas on Sunday, July 26th at 12:00 PM, part of Beep Boop, Beep Boop: A Sci-Fi Film Festival. The winning team will receive $200 and score a 6-month film pass.
