Cléo from 5 to 7

1962 | NR | 1 hr 29 mins
Directed by: Agnès Varda
Starring: Corinne Marchand, Dominique Davray, Dorothée Blanck, Michel Legrand

Agnès Varda eloquently captures Paris in the sixties with this real-time portrait of a singer set adrift in the city as she awaits test results of a biopsy. A chronicle of the minutes of one woman’s life, this film is a spirited mix of vivid vérité and melodrama, featuring a score by Michel Legrand and cameos by Jean-Luc Godard and Anna Karina.

Free Film Screening and Discussion led by Literary Arts Film Students from The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts!

“Cleo From 5 To 7” is from legendary filmmaker Agnes Varda, called one of the “gods of cinema” by Martin Scorsese.

Literary Arts students study over one hundred films over their four-year film curriculum at “Charter Arts.” Using the “Socratic Method” – open-ended questions that encourage “why?” and “how” – our film students find deeper meaning through conversation and reflection in a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and opinions.
