Marissa Alise Baez : Materia Medica
Marissa Alise Baez : Materia Medica
Materia Medica explores the movement of people, practices and materials associated with labor. For this exhibition I have collected materials connected to Mexican workers involved with Bethlehem Steel. You see cyanotype prints of images, and documents from the library archives of Lehigh Valley University Penn State University Library Special Collection, and The National Museum of Industrial History. “Materia Medica” is a medicine book derived from Greek Physician, Pharmacologist, and Bontist Dioscorides. Illustrated in the book are drawings of natural materials and their uses. Metals are included within the book.

Comics Working Clean (a clean content adult humor family friendly comedy show)
Chris Larry (Host)
Chris Larry has been doing comedy for 4 years in NYC. Originally from Savannah, Georgia, Chris started dabbling in open mics and comedy writing in college. In Georgia he performed with the Savannah Comedy Revue and since his move to New York has appeared on pop-up shows and at festivals throughout the Tri-State area, including opening for John Fugelsang and Frank Conniff at the Good Karma Comedy Festival last June.
Shane Cohen
Shane, a Distinguished Toastmaster, has led public speaking workshops nationwide. Through his stand-up comedy and improv shows, he delivers “Humor that Helps,” using laughter to raise awareness and support for various causes and charities. Shane has performed at the prestigious Gotham Comedy Club in NYC’s New Talent Showcase, Musikfest—America’s largest free music festival—and entertained some of the country’s largest organizations.
Andrew P. Reymer (Guest Spot)
Andrew P. Reymer grew up in small town Pennsylvania in a family-owned funeral home which went bankrupt despite the town having a “Ridge of Death,” which explains both his sardonic sense of humor and his inability to enjoy most anything. Now based in Baltimore, he’s performed at Magooby’s Joke House, the Lou Costello Room, and at several comedy events (including a few that should not have been comedy events).
Ellen Wesley
Ellen Wesley is a real-life ER doctor who does standup for fun. They say laughter heals, but only when you give it away! Based in Chicago, she flies around doing shows from coast-to-coast-to-coast! And it is absolutely true that life can BEGIN at, umm, let’s say 60?
Méla Shea (Guest Spot)
Méla Shea has cerebral palsy and she’s been in love with performing comedy for 20 years. She’s performed all over New York City, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and you can see her in B movies such as Anxiety Film’s “Ghoul Scout Massacre” and on Showtime’s “I Can’t Believe I’m Still Single”.
Frank Vignola (Headliner)
Frank Vignola is a Delaware native who got his start in the business at Candlelight Dinner Theater doing productions of “Camelot” and “Fiddler on the Roof” the summer between his senior year of high school and his freshman year of college. “If memory serves, we got $5 a show for being in the chorus but the big money was in waiting tables in costume.” After college Frank moved to NYC and has been a transplanted New Yorker ever since. Besides appearances on Comedy Central, Amazon Prime and SiriusXM radio, Mr. Vignola also has performed at Montreal’s prestigious “Just for Laughs” Comedy Festival and toured the Middle East with Armed Forces Entertainment. Frank’s acting credits include the film roles of “Eddie” in “Tilting at Windmills” (International Film Festival Manhattan), “Mr. Leibowitz” in “Game Night” (Amazon Prime) and voicing the character of “Dr. Robert” in the animated television pilot “Ben v World”. And as a teacher has taught stand-up at some of Manhattan’s finest comedy clubs (including StandUpNY, The Laugh Lounge and Broadway Comedy Club) in addition to mentoring and private coaching two decades worth of aspiring comedians.
