Scott Tournet
Scott Tournet began his career as a founding member of Grace Potter & The Nocturnals (2004-2015). Along with Potter, he was the main songwriter and musical backbone of the group. Together they had a run of four consecutive Billboard Top 40 albums as well as a gold record for the hit song “Paris”. During their ascent the band played all the late night TV shows, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Fuji Rock, Rock in Rio, etc. The Nocturnals toured the world, performed President Obama, met and played with their heroes. During a tour of football stadiums opening for mainstream country artists, Tournet decided to step away and pursue
a different path.
In addition to his work with the Nocturnals, Scott has written and recorded with Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Willie Nelson, T Bone Burnett, Alison Krauss, and Mark Batson (Dr. Dre, Alicia Keys, Dave Matthews) and others. He has performed with The Allman Brothers Band, members of The Grateful Dead and Phish, Heart, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Sharon Jones, and many more.
After leaving the Nocturnals Tournet relocated to San Diego and immersed himself in Latin and West African music. During that time he created the band Elektric Voodoo. Under that moniker he wrote and produced three albums. They toured the states until 2022 when Scott moved back east with his wife and young kids. In 2023 he released “Rock & Roll Stories” which brought the sound back to his rock roots. The album debuted at number 2 on the Relix/Jamband radio charts and stayed in the top 20 for six months. Following that, he released the more singer-songwriter record “Home” in 2025.
Currently Tournet is touring as a duo or trio in which he plays a variety of stringed instruments, sings, and plays bass pedals with his feet. He is accompanied by a drummer and sometimes another multi-instrumentalist/vocalist. The shows consist of material spanning his entire career from the songs he wrote with the Nocturnals all the way up to his most current release.
