Possible Side Effects

One night only. Unscripted and spontaneous. Possible Side Effects comedy troupe reunites to bring you a night of Long Form Improvisation. With over 30 years of shared stage magic, this talented ensemble of Matt Donnelly, Stephen Booth, Pat Shepherd and Paul Mattingly will craft unique characters and entire worlds from one audience suggestion. Based loosely on the legendary “Harold” format developed at Improv Olympic in Chicago, follow along as these improvisors entertain you with 2 unique long form improv sets where anything can happen and everything is made up on the spot.

Matt Donnelly

Matt Donnelly has hosted and performed in acclaimed Las Vegas shows like “Best Comedy Show,” “The Bucket Show,” and “Executive Monkeys,” and notably improvised with Wayne Brady in “Making it Up” at the Venetian. Before Las Vegas, Matt taught at the People’s Improv Theater in NYC, directed teams at Upright Citizens Brigade, and co-created the Neutrino Video Projects, which appeared at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival and was franchised globally. He has taught improv at the New York Film Academy and Columbia University Business School. Matt has performed with groups such as Neutrino, Possible Side Effects, Threat, and The Faculty, all of which have headlined at major festivals across the country.

Matt is currently the head writer for Penn & Teller and tours as a comedy magician with Jokers of Magic.

Paul Mattingly

Paul Mattingly has been improvising for three decades. His credits include the Second City mainstage at the Flamingo in Las Vegas, 50 Shades the musical parody(Christian Grey), Tony and Tina’s wedding and Star Trek the Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Paul is currently Co-host of Matt and Mattingly’s Ice Cream Social podcast with his improv comedy partner Matt Donnelly.

Stephen Booth

Stephen Booth has been improvising since 1996. He has been a part of such troupes as “Possible Side Effects”, “Executive Monkeys” and “The Cartel”. He has worked with legendary improvisors from Improv Olympic, the Peoples Improv Theater and the Upright Citizens Brigade.

Stephen starred in 2 television pilots: “Possible Side Effects” and “Teleprov” and also starred in the independent film “Reality and Stuff”. Stephen is the co-creator of the Caribbean craze “cartoon dancing”.

Pat Shepherd

Pat Shepherd began his improv career with Improv Jam in Redbank NJ in 1994. He is a long time member of “Possible Side Effects” and was on several house teams with the Upright Citizens Brigade. Pat starred in the television pilot “Teleprov” and has appeared in several television commercials.
