Painting Exotic Animals in Acrylic
Create a finished acrylic painting of an exotic animal in this 4-week course! The class will begin with drawings, using the grid method to achieve accurate proportions. Students will learn techniques to block in the basic shapes, create varied brushstrokes, and add in highlights and shadows to create wonderful effects. Previous drawing experience is helpful, but not required, as the Teaching Artist will provide individual attention to each student.
Nancy Sullivan
I am a Rutgers University graduate with a Bachelor of Art in Illustration and a minor in Piano performance. I recently retired from a career in the insurance industry and I have been teaching art to children and adults at the Northampton Community college, the ArtsQuest and the Forks Art Association for the past 3 years. I also teach after school art for kids through the ArtQuest ArtSmart program. I have been drawing and painting since I was five years old and I just love to teach! My classes are fun and entertaining. I also have a business called, “Lines, Tigers, and Bears” where I do individual commissioned art pieces,. My work is currently on display at the Forks Art Association cottage on Zucksville road in Easton, Pa.
