Free Film Screenings for Students

As part of its commitment to presenting dynamic arts and educational experiences, ArtsQuest presents occasional free film screenings of award-winning films and documentaries for students at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas.

On Martin Luther King Day, the nonprofit presented free screenings for ages 17 and younger of “Selma,” the Oscar-nominated film highlighting the historic Civil Rights march from Selma to Montgomery, Ala., in 1965. Nearly 550 people saw the movie, including over 100 who stayed for a special discussion led by Social Justice and Diversity Educator Sharon A. Brown and Moravian College Assoc. Professor Deborah Appler. The evening touched the lives of young and old alike, while shining the spotlight on a very important time in our nation’s history.
