The Upright Citizens Brigade TourCo, the hilarious, nationally acclaimed improv company featuring some of today's funniest actors and writers, headlines the first SteelStacks Improv Comedy Festival Feb. 1 at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. The festival, which will take place from 2 p.m.-3 a.m., will showcase a variety of short- and long-form improv groups during 10 hours of nonstop comedy.

In addition to the performance by the Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company, the SteelStacks Improv Comedy Festival will showcase talented and hilarious improv groups from throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region, with performance spots filled through a jurying process. Improv troupes interested in performing at the festival should submit a performance resume and/or biography, as well as a video clip of one of their performances below. All applications must be received by Dec 6. and troupes selected for the festival will be notified by Dec. 13.

Improv groups and comedians looking to take their performances to the next level are invited to participate in any of the 6 long-form workshops being taught on Feb. 2.

Founded by Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh, the Upright Citizens Brigade is widely recognized as the best improv, sketch and standup troupe in the country, with its members going on to perform and write for Saturday Night Live, The Office, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation and many other comedy shows and movies. Among the troupe's notable alumni are Anziz Ansari, Rob Corddry, Donald Glover, Ed Helms, Kate McKinnon, Bobby Moynihan, Aubrey Plaza, Rob Riggle and Horatio Sanz. UCB has been named "Hot Farm Team" by Rolling Stone and "Best Comedy Club" by AOL, while the UCB Theatre in New York has won Time Out's Best Comedy Theater Award.
