The nonprofit Appalachian Fiddle and Bluegrass Association's (AFBA) monthly shindigs will be moving to the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks starting this September. Performing at the first event Sept. 9 will be special guest bands Louie Setzer and the Appalachian Mountain Boys, Hillbilly Souls and Hub Hollow, as well as a number of their regular supporting bands.
The AFBA shindigs, which feature scheduled performers as well as jam sessions, will be held at the ArtsQuest Center on the second Sunday of each month from September-April. Starting in May 2013, the shindigs will return to AFBA's Mountain View Park near Wind Gap for the summer before resuming at the ArtsQuest Center in the fall. Shindigs will take place from noon to approximately 5 p.m. Admission for the inaugural event at the ArtsQuest Center is at the special rate of $5; all other events are $7, with children under 13 admitted free with an adult.
Featured bands are subject to change. For more information on the AFBA and the complete performance schedule, please visit www.afbawindgap.org or phone Joe Sullivan, AFBA President, at 610-838-3015.
