Pennsylvania Youth Theatre Company Jazz Auditions Announced

Lynne Mariani, former Fosse dancer, and nationally recognized master teacher invites area dancers to audition for "CompanyJAZZ," a new performing ensemble under the auspices of Pennsylvania Youth Theatre’s Division of Dance on Wednesday, October 1st , 7:30 – 8:30 pm.

Mariani is seeking ballet-trained jazz dancers age 9 – 12 for the Junior Ensemble and age 13 – 22 for the Senior Ensemble to learn new as well as original Broadway choreography for company performances through out the year. Dancers must be currently enrolled in at least one ballet and one jazz class per week in any area dance program and must register for and be available on Wednesday evenings, 7:30 – 8:30.

On Broadway, Mariani was a soloist and dance captain for Bob Fosse’s "Dancin’" and was, also, featured in "Cats" choreographed by Gillian Lynne. Her European credits include the companies of "Cats," "Hollywood Beat," "Chicago" and "Red Hot Broadway".

As a guest teacher, Lynne has brought her energetic and performance-focused teaching style to Wilkes University, DeSales University, and Kings College, among others.
