MIRANDA COSGROVE COMING TO MUSIKFEST AUG. 7
YouTube Sensation Greyson Chance to Open Show
BETHLEHEM, PA - Television and pop rock star Miranda Cosgrove will electrify the audience at Musikfest's® Sands Steel Stage when she performs Sunday, Aug. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Opening the show, which is sponsored by B104, will be rising star and YouTube sensation Greyson Chance. Tickets for the concert are $25 and $35. They will go on sale starting Tues., April 12, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and Fri., April 15, 10 a.m., to the public and be available at www.musikfest.org and 610-332-3378.
Best known as Carly Shay on "Nickelodeon's hit "iCarly," Cosgrove is one of the entertainment world's hottest young stars. Her current release, "High Maintenance," debuted at No. 34 on the Billboard 200 Chart, and she was recently featured on the cover of "The New York Times Magazine." This past Saturday, Cosgrove also took home a Nickelodeon 2011 Kids Choice Award when iCarly won in the "Favorite TV Show" category.
In 2008, Cosgrove released "iCarly," her debut on Columbia Records. The recording, which featured music from the hit TV show and four original songs, reached No. 1 on Billboard's Kids Chart and No. 2 on Billboard's Soundtracks Chart. Her accompanying music video, "About You Now," was also one of the best selling videos on iTunes. Cosgrove's 2010 release, "Sparks Fly," reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200 Chart and featured the single "Kissin U," which hit No. 36 on Billboard's Adult Pop Songs Chart.
As the star of iCarly, Cosgrove leads Nickelodeon's highest rated live-action show, which averages 5-8 million viewers per episode. She has also graced the big screen, with appearances in the movies "School of Rock" and "The Wild Stallion," as well as serving as the voice of Margo in "Despicable Me." Opening the concert is 14-year-old Greyson Chance, whose career took off after he posted a clip of himself performing Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" on YouTube. The video became a huge sensation, with more than 28 million people watching. Just a few weeks later, Chance appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and he was soon signed to eleveneleven Records, which released his first single, "Waiting Outside the Lines," in October 2010. Chance is currently working on a new album, to be released later this year.
