ARTSQUEST TO PRODUCE 2011 GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY FILMMAKER FESTIVAL

Feature and short submissions now being accepted

Bethlehem, PA – The ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks will produce the 2011 Greater Lehigh Valley Filmmaker Festival from November 6th through the 10th in its Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas. ArtsQuest Programming Manager in change of Comedy and Cinema Ryan Hill is now accepting feature length submissions in narrative, documentary or experimental structure, and will do so until October 3rd, 2011 at 9pm. Submissions can be dropped off or mailed to Hill's attention at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks at 101 Founder's Way, Bethlehem, PA 18015.

ArtsQuest is looking for new and seasoned filmmakers from the Greater Lehigh Valley to submit their work. ArtsQuest will consider submissions from filmmakers further away than the Lehigh Valley, but the further the filmmaker is from the Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton/Phillipsburg area, the smaller the chance that his/her work will be considered.

Further rules for submissions include:

  • Films must be submitted with a completed submission form; this can be found online at www.artsquest.org/film.
  • Films must be submitted in DVD format only, though they can be presented during the festival in 35mm, BluRay, DVD or HDCam formats.
  • Films must be submitted by either the project's Director or Producer, if not by some other authorized representative.
  • Filmmakers wishing to submit multiple entries for consideration must sent a separate submission form and DVD for each entry.

Festival awards will include Best Feature, Best Short and Best Young Filmmaker (20 and younger). The festival schedule will be released in mid-October 2011.

"We know there is filmmaking talent throughout the Lehigh Valley," says Hill. "ArtsQuest has a long history of shining a light on local arts talent, and we finally have a way to do so with filmmakers. I can't wait to start getting submissions."

The Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas are a two-screen independent, foreign and arthouse cinema located in the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks at 101 Founder's Way in Bethlehem, PA. For questions regarding this release, please contact ArtsQuest Programming Manager in charge of Cinema and Comedy Ryan Hill at rhill@artsquest.org.
