ARTSQUEST ANNOUNCES FIRST OF 100 POSITIONS CREATED BY STEELSTACKS
BETHLEHEM, PA-ArtsQuest has announced that it is seeking to fill the first two of approximately 100 jobs that will be created by the development of the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. The first new position, Director of Celebration, will be responsible for the development of cultural events and programs at the ArtsQuest Center and other ArtsQuest venues on the SteelStacks campus, scheduled to open in Bethlehem in May 2011.
“ArtsQuest’s mission is to celebrate arts and culture. It is appropriate that this new position will work with individuals and organizations in our community to develop programming that fulfills the needs of the community to celebrate the great culture that we have here in the Lehigh Valley,” said Jeff Parks, president of ArtsQuest, the organization that presents Musikfest and Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem and operates the Banana Factory cultural arts and education center.
The second new position, Director of Relationship Information, will require the successful candidate to have extensive knowledge of the relationship management software system that ArtsQuest uses to organize and communicate with its constituents.
The vast majority of the approximately 100 positions created as a result of the ArtsQuest Center will be hired in late 2010 and early 2011. More than 30 of these positions will be with the ArtsQuest organization and the balance will be with the food service organization that will partner with ArtsQuest at the ArtsQuest Center.
“The ArtsQuest Center and other ArtsQuest venues at the SteelStacks campus have been the beneficiaries of considerable public investment. Like other business entities that receive public investment, ArtsQuest is fulfilling its pledge to create much needed jobs for our community, while at the same time being an anchor for further economic development on the former Bethlehem Steel site,” Parks said.

All positions scheduled to be filled will be placed on the website during the next 14 months. These positions are expected to include areas such as event management, facilities management, electronic marketing, administrative assistants, performing arts management, cinema program management, music production, accounting, database management, box office and retail.
