Q: What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned about ArtsQuest through the Ambassador Program that you didn’t know before?
A: For me, it was interesting to learn about the diversity, size and scope of the various programs offered at the Banana Factory, including that it contains 30 resident studio artists.

Q: Why would you recommend the Ambassador Program to other volunteers?
A: I would recommend this program to any volunteers that want to learn more about the “behind the scenes” organization of ArtsQuest and its relationship with the City of Bethlehem. Also anyone who is interested in having the opportunity to move into a volunteer leadership position should consider this program.

Q: If you could bring one act to Musikfest or some other event, who would they be and why?
A: I would like to see Billy Joel play Musikfest since he mentions Bethlehem in his hit song Allentown. I saw him perform in Philadelphia and New York City back in the 1980’s and he put on a fantastic show.

Q: When you’re not volunteering for ArtsQuest, what do you like to do in your spare time?
A: I am very actively involved with the Allentown Area Corvette Club. I have been Membership Co-Chair for the past 9 years and was recently elected to the Club’s Board of Directors. But mostly, I just enjoy driving my Corvettes as often as possible.

Q: What does being a Volunteer Ambassador mean to you?
A: With the knowledge I learned through the Ambassador program, I now feel more comfortable promoting the various programs that ArtsQuest offers. It also means that I can now take on more of a leadership role and assist other volunteers.

Q: What is your favorite event to volunteer for?
A: Musikfest is my favorite event. Music has always been a big part of my life since I played in a 4 piece band during my teens and 20’s. During that time I also co-wrote and recorded several songs in a recording studio. My wife and I have been attending Musikfest since 1990 and have never missed a year.

Q: What opportunities do you have now that you didn’t before completing the Ambassador Program?
A: I now have the opportunity to step up to a leadership position such as a Site Supervisor or House Manager.
