BETHLEHEM, PA—Fans of chart toppers Better Than Ezra will have an opportunity to experience the band’s lead singer, Kevin Griffin, in a whole, new way when he performs in the intimate setting of the Musikfest Café presented by Yuengling Jan. 17, 8 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $17-$22 in advance and $20-$25 day of show. They go on sale today, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members, and Nov. 7, 10 a.m., to the public at www.artsquest.org and 610-332-3378.
For nearly two decades, Griffin has been the lead singer and songwriter for the New Orleans-based Better Than Ezra. The group’s debut record, Deluxe, went double-platinum on the strength of the No. 1 hit “Good,” and the band followed that up with Friction Baby, which went gold and included the Top 10 hits “Desperately Wanting” and “King of new Orleans.” Among the band’s other hits are “Extra Ordinary” and “At The Stars.” Its newest recording is “All Together Now,” which was released in September and includes the single “Crazy Lucky.”
Since 2006, Griffin has also shared his songwriting talents with others, penning songs for some of the top names in music. Among these are Howie Day’s Top 10 hit “Collide” in 2006, as well as Sugarland’s 2010 hit “Stuck Like Glue.” For more information on the Kevin Griffin and all upcoming Musikfest Café shows, visit www.artsquest.org.
