Part-Time / Seasonal Positions
TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR
(Temporary Position August 2 – August 15, 2010)
Supervisor: Event Manager
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the operation of remote shuttle parking lots for Musikfest with volunteer staff from non-profit groups, and Operations Department.
- Responsible for delivery and pick-up of cash boxes, including ticket stock, and change.
- Responsible for delivery and pick-up of program books at remote shuttle lots.
- Responsible for daily sales report on parking lot usage, which includes the sale of program books.
Dates/Hours:
- August 2 – August 5, 2010 – 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- August 6 - August 15 – 9 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. daily
Compensation: Hourly Rate
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- Must be available nights and weekends
- Must be friendly, personable and have excellent communication skills
- Ability to identify a problem and use processes in place to settle the problem.
MERCHANDISE FESTIVAL STAFF
Temporary Position August 6 – August 15, 2010
Supervisor: Director of Merchandise
Functions:
- Assist merchandise staff in promoting and selling Musikfest related merchandise.
- Assist CD Sales Manager in promoting and selling performer related Merchandise.
- Responsible for “cash-in” and “cash-out” procedures.
- Assist Director of Merchandise in roving merchandise sales.
- Responsible for making proper change for customer purchases, when applicable.
- Provides customer service to patrons, as needed.
- ther duties as assigned by Director of Merchandise
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 or older.
- Must have a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Previous money handling experience is preferred.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
- Must be able to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to manage time efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of festival grounds is helpful.
Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 12 midnight
Compensation: Hourly rate
Information Systems Summer Assistant
Supervisor: Director of Information Systems
Function: Assist the Director of Information Systems with the set-up and maintenance of all networking systems for Musikfest and the Banana Factory.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with configuration of various IT Systems (work stations) throughout the festival grounds.
- Assist with cell phone and walkie set-up and distribution prior to and during the festival.
- Update, process and distribute contact sheet information on all cell phones and walkies for the festival.
- Assist with the take down/removal and storage of work stations for the festival.
- During the festival, assist with overall operation of festival Base Communications.
- Responsible for duties deemed appropriate and assigned by the Director of Information Systems.
Dates/Hours: Position will start July 5 and continue through August 17, 2010, Monday through Friday - 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. During Musikfest, August 6 - 15, 2010 hours will vary and will include nights and weekends.
Compensation: Hourly salary
Qualifications: Candidates must be at least 18 years old. Able to handle several responsibilities at one time, multi-task and work unsupervised at times. Individual must have a friendly and personable manner, with good communication skills. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license.
Operations Assistant
(3 positions available)
(Seasonal May 2010 – August 2010)
Supervisor: Director of Operations
Function: Assist the Director of Operations with set up, day to day operations and tear down of Musikfest 2010.
Responsibilities:
- Lead volunteer crews in setting up and taking down the festival.
- Assist, as needed, any operational function during the festival.
- Responsible for light maintenance at the Banana Factory
- Responsible for the daily room set up and take down schedule at the Banana Factory.
- Responsible for duties deemed appropriate and assigned by the Director of Operations.
Hours: The following dates are when each assistant will be needed:
- May 10, 2010 – August 20, 2010 (1)
- May 17, 2010 – August 20, 2010 (1)
- May 24, 2010 – August 20, 2010 (1)
The three assistants will work a forty (40) hour work week until July 23, 2010. The remaining dates will be extended hours for Musikfest and could escalate to approximately 70 hours as week. During Musikfest, they will arrange their schedule to have two assistants working at any given time.
Compensation: Hourly salary
Qualifications: Candidates must be at least 18 years old. They must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to drive a small truck. The candidate must be able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds. They must be detail oriented and be able to handle several duties at one time. Candidates should enjoy working with the general public and have the ability to lead/manage volunteers effectively is a must.
Community Resources Coordinator
Supervisor: Director of Community Resources
Responsibilities:
- With direction from the Community Resources Department, coordinate the recruiting and staffing of seasonal/festival staff and community based partners in various positions such as parking and transportation, event/security staff, beverage and merchandise sales, etc.
- Coordinate logistics of record keeping and filing information of seasonal staff.
- Assist ArtsQuest staff in the training and orientation of seasonal staff.
- Work with Community Resources Intern in scheduling, training and preparing materials for festival volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Dates/Hours:
Beginning May 24 2010 until August 16, 2010.
Monday through Friday, hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. until mid-July when evening hours may be required for Musikfest training. During Musikfest from August 6 - August 15, 2010 evening hours and weekends are required.

- Detail oriented and able to manage several responsibilities and duties at one time.
EVENT STAFF
Temporary position only August 6 – 15, 2010
Responsibilities:
- Provide access control to restricted areas.
- Staff various areas and gates within the festival grounds.
- Assist with vehicle and pedestrian access.
- Assist ushers in seating, as needed.
- Assist with crowd management.
- Provide patrons with directions and/or venue information, if requested.
- Ensure a safe and fun environment for all patrons and performers.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be friendly, personable and have excellent communication skills.
- Must be a team player and be able to work well with others.
- Must be available nights and weekends.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must pass a complete background check
